Love Living The Quiet Life…

Filed under: Websites — printedimage @ 1:11 pm

A standout in the vast proliferation of photography blogs is the one run by The Quiet Life Camera Club. The interface is clean, clear and easy to use. TPI has been impressed by the fresh takes and consistently high quality of the photography featured. The site has just published volume two of some of the best images. You can purchase the book online or join The Quiet Life Camera Club by following this link:

Focus on Madonna

Filed under: Book Reviews — printedimage @ 12:55 pm

By coincidence rather than design, TPI’s have two books in our hot little hands featuring Madonna naked and in erotic poses.

Martin Schreiber : Madonna Nude 1979

Martin Schreiber presents his photographic session with the infamous Madonna, photographed back in 1979, before the blond hair and stardom. In what must have been the bargain of the century, she was paid $30.00 for the session. These lovely black and white nude studies are accompanied by proof sheets from the shoot. Our copy is in good condition with only light foxing and wear.

Stephen Meisel : Sex

The world’s most controversial book of its time, the ‘Sex’ book follows the imaginary story of Madonna’s fantasy alter-ego ‘Dita’ on her many journey’s through sexual wonderland. The last and biggest act of her bad girl phase, this collection of nude photographs by Stephen Meisel was shot in a wild variety of locales, including bars, city streets in suburban Florida, and the Gianni Versaci mansion and grounds–and with an array of celebrities, including Naomi Campbell, Isabella Rossellini, Big Daddy Kane and Vanilla Ice. Spiral bound aluminum stamped and die cut sheets form the covers. CD and original slip cover not included.

Booktown for a Day

Filed under: Editorials — printedimage @ 10:43 am

Clunes : Booktown for a Day : Sunday 20 May 2007

The historic township of Clunes is a little off the beaten track. Located a good 20 minuted drive from Ballarat, it is not an easy place to get too, particularly on a cold and grey Sunday in May. Clunes is one of Victoria’s most beautiful – and historically intact – gold towns. It was in fact the site where the first payable gold deposits in Victoria were discovered.

TPI was searching for a different kind of treasure in Clunes on Sunday 20  May. For one day only the town hosts a book festival which features 50 booksellers peddling over 30 000 books. The town itself makes a lovely backdrop for a day of book shopping, sight seeing and eating. We won’t tell you what we found, you’ll have to visit the store to find out however TPI will be getting out of bed earlier next year to snap up even more hot bargains. We hope to see you all there!

Winter is closing in on Melbourne. The days are gloomier, the nights longer and colder. Tis the season to enjoy the delights of snuggling up under a nice warm doona with a good book. Paul Freeman’s “Bondi” series of male nudes is the perfect companion for heating up the homes of winter hermits. TPI is offering a winter special on sets of all three titles. Ordinarily all three titles would set you back $AUD224.90 but if you mention this offer you can have Paul Freeman’s Bondi Classic, Bondi Urban and Bondi Work for only $AUD190.00.
